How the setup estimate works
HomeFirst90 is a planning tool, not a live shopping quote. It estimates the cost of getting a home usefully set up from a representative basket of mainstream UK prices, then adjusts for household size, furnishing level, second-hand buying and what you already own.
Last calibration: 24 September 2026. Retail prices change constantly, so individual products may be cheaper or more expensive than the planning figure shown.
What the three spending levels mean
- Keep it basic: entry-level products, selective second-hand buying and fewer non-essential upgrades.
- Comfortable / sensible: mainstream new products without deliberately choosing premium brands.
- Spend more for quality: more generous allowance for durability, finish and higher-spec choices.
